When I won the Best Actor Award for my work in MADHOLAL, KEEP WALKING (2009) – a Hindi feature film in Cairo International Film Festival – many journalists called me up to ask me whether it was my so far best act I portrayed? Same set of questions I faced when I got the best actor award for multiple award winning critically acclaimed Bengali film BIBAR three years back in Osian CineFan Film Festival, New Delhi. Though my answers were definitely in negative, but my inner self within, never ceased to knock my conscience, again and again. After another 3years, when I was finalized for the character of BHEERA in ROAR, definitely my quest for excellence in methods of acting, got much narrower. I know, BHEERA is challenging me – challenging my ability & confidence… challenging my own craft. Now I know, how special BHEERA to me…

I passed out from country’s prime acting school, National School of Drama, a brooding nursery of innumerable super actors of Indian as well as International film industries – stricken the right cord of portraying speckled of characters spanning over a decade. I was also trained at Central School of Speech & Drama (London). Post passing out from NSD, I started my career in acting with NSD Repertory Company. In that tenure, I acted in more than 35 Hindi plays as LEAD actor, before I anchored in Indian Film Industry.

I am proud to have shared screen space with some of the legendary Indian actors like, Mr. Amitabh Bachhan, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Naseeruddin Shah and Manoj Bajpai and with some award winning & commercially successful filmmakers. My recent act in TALASH & BHOOTNATH RETURNS creating quite a buzz in India, and beyond.

Presently, I am working both in Hindi, as well as in Bengali films as lead & supporting casts. Funnily some of my critics and fans lovingly call me as 'Chameleon' for my portrayal of diametrically different roles in every second film…

Back to ROAR… when I was asked to write my experience of working in ROAR, my overwhelmed soul of an actor, excelled… For me, BHEERA – what I am playing in the film ROAR, is not an easy character from an extremely difficult film. But, the cumulative vision of the producer Abis Rizvi, and the crafty director, Mr. Kamal Sadanah and state-of-the-art technical dynamism of Director of Photography, Mr. Michael Watson, a renowned cinematographer from LA (Hollywood), made the experience unassumingly simple one. One of the finest bunches of ensemble cast and amazing line of technical crews made the entire experience surreal. In the treacherous terrain of Sundarbans in Bangladesh, life was as easy as any comfortable location for any conventional shoot. Comprehending the entirety, ROAR is a lifetime experience and I believe, I shall cherish the experience, all my life.
